Why do we say shop Clio first?  Because we live here and we use the local shops.  Just like buying American cars, if you use the local shops, you keep YOUR money here in this locale.  If your money stays here, it can and usually is used to help your business that you either work at or own.  The more money you pay to national companies, the more your money leaves this area.  The problem with most national companies is that MOST if not ALL their products are built overseas.  Even companies like Microsoft / HP / Dell are using companies in India, China, Taiwan to do their work for pennies on the American dollar.  The more we buy from them, the more we say to them it is OK to do that.  Look around you, this is one of the HARDEST hit areas in the country for loss of jobs to foreign countries.  Every area should have their own "Shop *put your area name here* FIRST!!", to try and keep most of their monies local to support their local economies.  Stand up and tell your local officials that you want them to use local companies to fill their daily ordering from LOCAL companies, even if it cost more.  It costs more because we won't work for $3.00 a day.  I fully understand if a service / company is out there trying to rip people off, but you can spot them after dealing with them.  But for example, if I buy a widget for $10 at the local hardware store and then find it at a BIG chain store for $7, that extra $3 is going to be going to local employees and their taxes.  Then that employee will need something from you AND has the money to purchase it.  Keep your money local and save a job!!!  The next one might be yours.
